Places To Eat

Galveston has an amazing food scene.  There are so many places to choose from (especially fresh seafood).

Some of our favorite places are...

Willie G's Seafood & Steaks

We all love Willie G's but Mia especially loves the Chicken Romano and Chocolate Rivera dessert... and the views.

Miller's Seawall Grill

We always start our meal with hushpuppies and sweet tea. It's Jacob's favorite because their seafood comes fried, blackened or grilled. (Breakfast served all day)

The Spot

When our boys were young, The Spot was a hamburger favorite loved by us all. It's especially fun to build your own burger. Adam still claims it as his favorite spot.

Sugar Bean Coffee and Cream

This is Kayla's favorite hang out. It's a fun place to grab a treat in a casual and relaxing atmosphere.

MOD Coffeehouse

Ernest's favorite coffee is MOD's. They have excellent coffee and are conveniently close to Galveston's historic strand and art galleries.

Rudy & Paco

Christy's absolute favorite place for lunch. Great variety and best food on the island. (It's more affordable and casual during lunch.)

The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe

Yummy place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. If you're celebrating a special occasion, they have a nice selection of cakes & more.

Saltgrass Steak House

There's something for everyone however our family loves their items from the grill. Great Surf and Turf options.

Landry's Prime Seafood & Steaks

Landry's is known on the island for their waterfront fine dining plus their great location.

Nick's Kitchen & Beach Bar

Nick's takes pride saying they make everything in-house. Enjoy indoor or outdoor seating.

Galveston Bagel Company

If you love bagels, then this is the place for you. Get them plain, with spreads or even made into sandwiches. (Breakfast & lunch)

Number 13 Prime Steak & Seafood

Upscale Steak House at Pelican Rest Marina. So much variety. Even has a cigar menu.

Mario's Seawall Italian

When we have friends and family all get together, we love to order Mario's huge pizzas.

Riondo's Ristorante

It feels very cozy inside and the food is excellent. The convenience of being on the strand is also a big bonus.

Fisherman's Wharf

This is a favorite for many locals. Their seafood is wonderful but their hamburgers are also amazing.

Cajun Greek

If you've come to the island in hopes of finding Greek food, this is your place.

Gaido's Famous Seafood Restaurant

Gaido's first opened in 1911. Our family has been eating there for many decades.

Shrimp N Stuff

There are 2 locations to choose from. Either location is a family favorite.

Hubcap Grill

When they say they do burgers right, it's true. They do burgers right.

Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza

Not only do they have authentic hand tossed pizza, but they have a large variety of Italian dishes to choose from.

Stuttgarden Tavern

This is a German inspired restaurant and bar with 40 rotating taps, darts, pool, trivia, cornhole, TV's, Karaoke, and outdoor patio.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co

This restaurant is all about location... Next to Pleasure Pier and on the water.

Fish Tales

Another restaurant all about location... Just across the street from Pleasure Pier.

Rainforest Cafe

If you have children, this is a must do. It's truly an adventure with many surprises.

Star Drug Store

The oldest drug store in Texas... where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and soda fountain items. It's like stepping back in time.

Gypsy Joynt

If you're looking for something different check out the Gypsy Joynt. There are a ton of options to choose from.

Doc Holliday's Roadhouse

New to the island and gaining popularity, the atmosphere is very western with a menu that matches.

Hey Mikey's Ice Cream

A great place for the family to go for ice cream. Lot's of variety and a very friendly atmosphere.

La King's Confectionery & Ice Cream Parlour

Our family's favorite place to go for ice cream, malts, shakes and candy. We love the working 1920's soda fountain & nostalgic building.

Galveston Island Brewing Co.

Let the kids play on the playground while you enjoy a cold drink. Different brews and ciders can be found year round.

Good Dough

This made from scratch kolache bakery serves traditional Czech kolaches as well as many unique kolaches. I think you'll love them.

Freckleberry Teahouse

So many amazing drinks to choose from. If you like drinks with a unusual twist, this place is for you.

Home Cut Donuts

The convenience of the drive thru and the close proximity to Surfin Safari is awesome, but we also love their variety of donuts.
